ADHD, Autism & Emotional Regulation Therapy for Teens and Young Adults
Virtual Counseling in McKinney, Collin County & Throughout Texas
Does your teen struggle with big emotions, impulsivity, ADHD, or feeling misunderstood? Maybe you're a young adult who has spent years feeling different, overwhelmed, or frustrated by patterns that seem impossible to change. Whether you're navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, or difficulty managing emotions and relationships, you deserve support that goes beyond simply telling you to think positively or try harder.
I'm Rhondie, and I'm passionate about helping adolescents and young adults understand how their brains work, build practical coping skills, and feel confident in who they are. My background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches gives me a unique perspective on how behavior, emotions, and the environments we navigate every day connect.
I understand that challenges with emotional regulation, executive functioning, impulsivity, and relationships aren't always a matter of motivation or effort. Sometimes, we need a different set of tools and someone who understands why traditional approaches haven't worked.
My clinical experience includes providing individual and group therapy in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) settings, where I've supported clients experiencing ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and significant emotional dysregulation. I also have experience working with individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), helping them navigate intense emotions, relationship difficulties, and patterns that interfere with daily life.
My approach combines compassion with practical, real-life skills. Drawing on DBT-informed strategies, behavioral techniques, and my ABA background, I help clients build emotional regulation skills, improve distress tolerance, recognize behavioral patterns, strengthen communication, and find strategies that fit their individual needs. My approach is collaborative, individualized, and respectful of neurodivergent experiences.
Above all, I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, not judged. You don't need to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or feel pressured to change who you are. We'll work together at your pace, building on your strengths while addressing the challenges that are keeping you stuck. And yes, there is absolutely room for humor and laughter along the way!
I offer virtual ADHD-, autism-informed, and DBT-informed counseling for teens and young adults in McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Plano, throughout Collin County, and across Texas. Whether you're a parent seeking support for your teen or a young adult ready to better understand yourself, I'd love to help you take that next step. I am currently under the supervision of Shanna Dugan LCDC, LPC-S.
